5. A Study on the Deaeration Effect of N2 Nanobubbles Using Friction Tube

[Abstract]
The dissolved oxygen in water has a role in causing oxidation reactions that corrode devices and other objects. Thus, the removal of dissolved oxygen, known as deaeration, is a crucial task in the industry. This study investigated whether it is possible to generate deaerated water with more than 90% dissolved oxygen (DO) removal by injecting nitrogen(N2) into an apparatus that generates nanobubbles using the friction tube method, in order to minimize the deaeration process and improve efficiency. The deaeration reaction time and economic feasibility of nanobubble generation using a friction tube were examined. Furthermore, this study verified the possibility of a downsized deaerator that can be easily converted into a mid- and large-sized device depending on the needs of research laboratories, cosmetics, personal care, and food industries, as well as specific company situations. Finally, the applicability of this deaerator in the chemical and construction sectors and facilities requiring industrial water, such as power plants and heating system pipelines was verified.
